Millennium Project Report launched in Malawi

The five-year study – the Millennium Project Report – conducted by Geoffrey Sachs on the Millennium Goals in Malawi, was launched in January 2005.

Speaking on the need for improved partnerships in Malawi, Mr Sean de Cleene (Executive Director, AICC) commented that there is the need for the country to come up with new ways to harness the innovation, technology networks and problem solving skills of the various sectors working in partnership to improve economic competitiveness and sustainable development of the country and most importantly, to fight poverty.

According to Mr. de Cleene, “For such partnerships to be viable, it is also clear that they have to be conducted in a spirit of enlightened self interest to ensure that there is sufficient buy in and follow through from all stakeholders involved to ensure that the desired outcomes are met”.
